Stages of Service Separation

How to Use the ECOD Model
Knowledge is power, and knowing why you are feeling the way you do removes a great deal of the power and fear these emotions hold.

The basis of this model is research into the effects of separation on Naval families. This research indicates that many problems experienced are avoidable if partners understand each other, and how they feel, i.e. lack of sexual intimacy before deployment does not spell disaster, just natural feelings of tension and arguing does not necessarily show evidence that your relationship is deteriorating, just that you are experiencing a perfectly normal process.
