Location

AFCO Glasgow is situated in the centre of Queen Street . We are approximately five minutes walk from Glasgow Central Rail Station, two minutes from Queen Street Rail Station and five minutes from Buchanan Street Bus Station.

Opening Times

We are open Monday - Friday 0900 - 1700. No appointment is required, just drop in for an informal brief about career opportunities in the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.

Information

We are available during the day and evenings including weekends to give presentations to Schools, Colleges, Youth Groups and Uniformed organisations. We are also able to attend shows and fairs with supporting assets when available. Visiting teams are also available to give presentations and Teambuilding days and we will also attend Careers Conventions and Jobs Fairs. A weekly presentation is given every Tuesday at the AFCO and starts at 1000. Royal Naval Reserve

A Royal Naval Reserve Unit is based in Greenock . Drill nights are held on a Wednesday and some weekends and you get paid ! Therefore if you do not want to commit to a full time career in regular service, you could consider the Royal Naval Reserve as an alternative option. For further information call AFCO Glasgow.

Royal Marines Reserve

Royal Marines Reserve Scotland is based in Govan just off Helen Street . If you feel you are ready for a challenge and have the physical ability to complete Royal Marines Reserve Training but don't want regular Service then contact 0141 224 5710 or 0141 4456020.

Sea Cadet Units

There are several Sea Cadet units based within Glasgow and the surrounding areas. Most meet at least once per week and some weekends. Activities include sailing, sporting events and visits to ships and shore establishments. For further information or to contact you nearest unit please call 0141 224 5710.

Ratings' Look at Life Course

Venue - Royal Naval Acquaint Centre, Rosyth, Fife

If you are considering a Career with the Royal Navy, an opportunity now exists to attend the above course which includes a single night in residence, incorporates a ship or submarine visit, team building, job opportunity (branch) lectures and an overview of ethos and core values of the Royal Navy. The courses start normally on a Tuesday pm and end on Thursday am. All food, accommodation and travel is provided free of charge to those attending.
