The Northern end of St Giles towards the Woodstock Road, a 15 minute walk from the train station or a 10 minute walk from the bus station. From the shopping centre head North past the Randolph Hotel where you will find us 500 yards on the left. Parking outside is available (at £2.00 per hour). There is an excellent Park and Ride system operating both North, South (A34) and West (A40) of Oxford which drops off in the shopping centre. The Park & Ride service from the ‘Peartree’ site drops off opposite the office, making this the simplest option.

0900-1200 Friday.

This office has just one member of staff who may be unavailable to take your telephone call when you ring; please do leave a message on the answer-machine and your call will be returned as soon as possible.

Likewise, if  you call into the office in person it is possible that no-one would be available to see you at that time, therefore, please call to make an appointment before arriving at the office.  Please allow a minimum of one hour at the AFCO, this will enable you to gather all the information you require and give the opportunity to view a video showing life in the Service.

Chief Petty Officer(CPO) Jan Scott runs the AFCO Oxford and she looks forward to welcoming you to her office. She is able to give advice on your career in the Service and to guide you through every step of your application.

Jan is also available to give formal and informal presentations covering a career in the Service to Schools and Colleges, Cadet Units or Youth Organisations. The preferred age ranges are 14 - 37 but she can deliver presentations to any age group, and can adapt the contents to suit your requirements. She has the facility to provide a dynamic presentation using Microsoft Power-point, or can give detailed briefs using minimum facilities. She is also available to take part in formal or informal discussions as required. She has a wealth of experience to draw on and can ensure an interesting and versatile provision of information.

A weekly presentation is given at the AFCO and a place on this can be booked by calling 08456 07 55 55, or by completing the application form on this website. The team will respond by letter with an information pack and details of the date and location of the presentation for you. If you are unable to make this presentation, an informal chat can be arranged by calling the AFCO direct.

Area Careers Liaison Officers (ACLO's) visit the AFCO's in their area an average of 1 -2 times per fortnight, and are available to answer any questions or queries by appointment. Officer Entry is open to application to persons aged 17 - 35 (dependant on specialisation) who have, or are predicted to attain, 5 GCSE's at Grade C or above, which must include Maths and English Language. A further requirement is for 180 UCAS points at A level or equivalent. ACLO's are available to give formal and informal presentations on Officer Careers to Schools, Colleges and Universities, and they have the same facilities for this as the AFCO staff. If you are interested in applying to serve in the Royal Navy or Royal Marines as an Officer, please contact our team on 08456 07 55 55, or complete the application form on this website.
