    Our Curriculum

Our focussed aim is to prepare you to become a high quality Technical or Scientific Officer for Service within an appropriate branch of the Armed Services or Ministry of Defence Civil Service.

All Welbeck students study four AS-levels and a Communication Skills course, based upon Computing and Communication, in the lower sixth. Mathematics and Physics are compulsory. Your further two choices come from any of the following subjects which form our core curriculum.

    The core curriculum includes:
Chemistry, Biology, Electronics, Design & Technology (Systems & Control), Computing, Geography, History, Government & Politics, and Business Studies. In the upper sixth you may continue all four subjects to ‘A’ level, or drop one and develop an enrichment subject. Enrichment courses complement your core curriculum subjects but offer a degree of variety to add to your academic profile.

    Enrichment subjects include:
Further maths AS, Sport & PE AS, Business Studies AS, Critical Thinking AS, Music development and / or a number of e-learning course which cover a wide variety of possible interests.

    The PSHCE programme:
In addition to the academic programme, a Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education (PSHCE) course emphasises moral, spiritual and leadership development. Arrangements are made to accommodate all faiths and the College day usually begins with a brief Service.
