  • 100 Years Of Naval Aviation
    Rear Admiral Simon Charlier, Chief of Staff (Aviation), will mark the launch of the One Hundredth Anniversary of Naval Aviation at Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose on Wednesday 11 March 2009. 
  • February: Mountbatten Festival of Music
    The 2009 Mountbatten Festival of Music will be the 37th annual presentation by The Royal Marines Band Service of their popular and prestigious musical showcase.

  • In October 2009, the Invincible Class aircraft carrier HMS Illustrious will visit Liverpool and spend the weekend receiving visitors in the city.
  • For one week in May, the Invincible Class aircraft carrier HMS Illustrious will make dramatic rendezvous with a selection of naval aircraft at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich.
