Commander UK Maritime Forces, Rear Admiral Phil Jones has paid a visit to the TAURUS 09 Task Group as it exercises in the Mediterranean.

After calling on Sea Area South Commander of the Turkish Navy, VAdm Erdeck Bucak, RAdm Jones flew onto the Task Group Flagship, HMS Bulwark where he was greeted by Commodore Peter Hudson CBE ADC, Commander Amphibious Task Group (COMATG).

Following a tour of the ship, which he is well familiar with, having held the COMATG appointment previous to Cdre Hudson, RAdm Jones disembarked to Dutch ship Johan De Witt which is playing host to the Maritime Component Command for the exercise.

On returning to Bulwark, RAdm Jones met with various members of the ships’ company and COMATG staff to get a feel for how the deployment is progressing, five weeks since we left the shores of the UK.
