Officer Cadet Vacancies

Officer Cadet (Engineering) Next Intake November 2009 & June 2010
Officer Cadet (Deck) Next Intake November 2009 & June 2010

We are accepting applications for Cadets throughout the year. Starting Salary is between £10675 & £11632 with an additional RFA Allowance of £3,072. We are also taking enquires for the position of 3rd Officer (Deck) for which the STCW 95 OOW Certificate of Competency is essential.

Qualified Ratings

We are now accepting applications for Qualified AB's (SG1A). You must be in possession of the following MCA STCW95 approved tickets, AB, EDH & CPSC (Lifeboat). Recent experience 18mths-2yrs as an AB is also desirable. Starting salary is £23,664 (with an additional RFA allowance of £3,072). Interviews are on-going and are held every 4 – 6 weeks.

We are also accepting applications for Qualified Stewards & Engineering Ratings (MM1). Starting salary for MM1 is £23,664 / Stewards - £21,662. (with an additional RFA allowance of £3,072). Interviews will be held in the Spring.


Sponsored Reserves

With effect 1st July 2007, all new entrants to the RFA will be required to sign an agreement to become a Special member of the Royal Naval Reserve (RNR). This is termed Sponsored Reservist, this status to be activated when serving onboard RFA units required to provide military afloat support during a conflict.Terms and Conditions of the Sponsored Reserve agreement will be issued during the recruitment process, usually verbally at interview and then in hard copy once a position has been offered.


Pension Changes

With effect 30th July 2007 all new entrant's to the Royal Fleet Auxiliary will have a choice of either Nuvos or a Partnership Pension arrangement. Further details of these schemes can be found on the Civil Service Pension Website. www.civilservice-pensions.gov.uk
