On behalf of our Commanding Officer, Commander Steve Waller Royal Navy, we wish you a warm welcome to HM Submarine Sceptre and her revamped website

Built by Vickers in Barrow-in-Furness, HMS Sceptre was commissioned on 14 February 1978 by Lady Audrey White.  She was the fourth 'S'-class submarine to enter service with the Royal Navy; our motto is 'Honour with Authority'. Sceptre was the tenth British nuclear powered fleet submarine and the first of a new generation to be named after a previous submarine. She is a giant compared to her predecessors. Sceptre enjoys both a rich heritage and a promising future; she carried out many patrols with particular distinction and is one of the most capable submarines in the fleet, having recently been fitted to fire Tomahawk missiles.

The boat extends you every good wish and a heartfelt welcome to her new website. We look forward to updating you with our news and encourage you to become a regular visitor to the website of the finest submarine in the fleet, HMS Sceptre.
