For the past 18 months the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement has been working with Ashridge Consulting, part of a leading business school, to develop an action learning network for leaders handling complex improvement challenges in the English NHS.

Many of those who experienced the first year have opted to continue for a second. Because of this success we are inviting new applications to the network and extending the invitation to the independent sector and Northern Ireland.

As well as six full days of action learning participants will have access to:

  • An initial conference to refine their personal objectives and set the agenda for the year 3 subsequent themed meetings with the whole group
  • Access to Ashridge’s unique Virtual Learning Resource Centre – online access to an array of learning materials: guides covering business and management skills, book summaries, industry trends and 200 top business journals Electronic chat rooms for your learning set and another where you can contact all the other set members so that you can stay connected
  • The opportunity to help the NHS learn about learning and improvement and to take the lead on dissemination through presentations, articles, and conferences.

Action Learning Conference June 2008

The initial conference to help participants refine their personal objectives for the community was held over a two-day residential session at Ashridge Business School, participants gained a deeper understanding of action learning and we captured some of their thoughts and energy as the conference came to an end.
