Welcome to the QIA

On 1 October 2008, QIA and the Centre for Excellence in Leadership (CEL) transferred their operation to the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS). LSIS is the new improvement body dedicated to the development of the FE and skills sector. It will continue to provide CEL and QIA programmes and honour existing contracts until the end of July 2009. Information about all QIA programmes and activities now being run by LSIS as well as previous documentation about its activities, is available on this site. For the latest LSIS information please click here.

Background to QIA
The Quality Improvement Agency (QIA) was set up to spark fresh enthusiasm for innovation and excellence in the Further Education and skills sector. It led the challenge to those involved in teaching, learning and training to lift their performance and implement the government's reforms for learning and skills which LSIS is continuing until at least July 2008.
