Imperial War Museum Duxford
Welcome to Duxford, Britain's premier aviation museum!

Duxford is Europe's premier aviation museum - as well as having one of the finest collections of tanks, military vehicles and naval exhibits in the country.
This famous heritage site began as an airfield in the First World War and also played a vital role in the Second World War, firstly as an RAF fighter station and later as an American fighter base.

The American Air Museum

The American Air Museum
The American Air Museum in Britain stands as a memorial to the 30,000 American airmen who gave their lives flying from UK bases in defence of liberty during the Second World War, and also honours those who fought in Korea, Vietnam, Libya, Iraq and other conflicts and battles of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Land Warfare Hall

Land Warfare Hall
The Land Warfare Hall houses the majority of the Imperial War Museum’s collection of military vehicles, reflecting the technological advances in twentieth century warfare.

Exhibits are arranged in realistic tableaux, taking the visitor on a journey from the First World War to the Gulf War and beyond. Several of the vehicles in this exhibition are maintained in running condition and can sometimes be seen in the vehicle running area behind the Hall.

The Land Warfare Hall also contains The Forgotten War, the story of the conflict in Burma and the Far East, and the Normandy Experience, an exhibition about D-Day and the liberation of Europe. Don’t miss the ‘Monty’ exhibition, featuring the caravans Field Marshal Montgomery used as a mobile tactical headquarters throughout the campaign in north-west Europe.
