Monitoring movement of herbicide resistant genes from farm-scale evaluation field sites to populations of wild crop relatives

Ref EPG 1/5/151

The fields in the farm-scale evaluations have also been used to monitor gene flow from the GM crops.

The objectives of this project were to

  • monitor gene flow from the GM crop to non-GM equivalent crops in the vicinity
  • monitor gene flow from the GM crop to wild relatives
  • monitor the occurrence and persistence of GM volunteers in following crops
  • monitor the persistence of GM hybrids with wild relatives if located.

Start and completion dates

The project started in May 2000 and was completed in 2004.
