New head of Crown Prosecution Service and Director Of Public Prosecutions appointed
The Attorney General, the Rt Hon Baroness Scotland QC, has appointed Keir Starmer QC as the new Head of the Crown Prosecution Service and Director of Public Prosecutions. He will take up post on 1st November 2008.
A call for level headedness and legislative restraint in an age of danger and risk was made by the Director of Public Prosecutions, Sir Ken Macdonald QC in the inaugural CPS Lecture.
