Deanery of Lichfield

The Queen has approved that the Reverend Canon Adrian John Dorber BA, MTh, Director of Ministries and Training in the diocese of Durham and Honorary Canon of Durham Cathedral, be appointed to the Deanery of Lichfield in succession to the Very Reverend Michael Leslie Yorke MA on his resignation.

Biographical Note

Adrian Dorber (born 1952) attended St John’s College, Durham and King’s College, London. He trained for ordination at Westcott House, Cambridge. From 1979 to 1985 he was Curate at Easthampstead, Oxford. From 1985 to 1988 he was Priest-in-Charge at Emmer Green, Reading. From 1988 to 1992 he was Chaplain at Portsmouth Polytechnic and from 1992 to 1997 was Senior Chaplain, Public Orator and Lecturer at Portsmouth University and also Honorary Chaplain at Portsmouth Cathedral. From 1997 to 2000 he was Priest-in-Charge
at Brancepeth, Durham. Since 1997 he has been Director of Ministries and Training in the Diocese of Durham and an Honorary Canon of Durham Cathedral.

Adrian Dorber is married to Caroline and they have five children. His recreations include gardening, modern fiction, cinema and good food.
