The New Year Honours List for 2008 has now been released. This is the first Honours List recommended by Prime Minister Gordon Brown and its aim is to reflect and pay tribute to outstanding achievement and service across the entire community.

Data Handling Procedures in Government

In November the Prime Minister asked the Cabinet Secretary to establish a review into data handling procedures in Government. The Review led by Robert Hannigan, Head of Intelligence, Resilience and Security in the Cabinet Office, working closely with heads of departments has now published its interim progress report.

Capability Reviews

Cabinet Secretary, Sir Gus O’Donnell, has announced the publication of two more Capability Reviews for HM Treasury and HM Revenue & Customs. These reviews are published alongside a ‘Progress and Next Steps’ report focusing on follow-up actions made by the departments assessed in the first tranche of reviews.

Autumn Performance Report 2007

The 2007 Cabinet Office Autumn Performance Report has been published. The report provides information on the latest progress against the Cabinet Office’s Public Service Agreement (PSA) targets agreed as part of the 2004 Spending Review (SR 2004).
