Child Abuse Investigation Command

Who we are

The Child Abuse Investigation Command investigates child abuse and deals with paedophile issues across London, working closely with other child protection agencies.

The command’s core objective is to identify and investigate allegations of child abuse, namely, physical, sexual and emotional abuse of children in London. The command’s specialist detectives and police staff work in conjunction with colleagues from Social Services, Health, Education and other agencies to provide counter measures to ensure a safe environment for London’s most vulnerable citizens. The command has nineteen Child Abuse Investigation Teams spread across London aligned to local boroughs who are also responsible for investigating all Sudden Unexpected Deaths in Infants (SUDI) that occur in the capital.
