The helicopter, which has performed successfully for US and Dutch forces in both Iraq and Afghanistan, will benefit from the two new contracts, both awarded to AgustaWestland, worth over £300 million. The contracts will significantly enhance the Apache AH Mk1’s night vision capability and provide a new four year support solution for the world’s leading attack helicopter.
Essential logistics support for Apache will be provided by a four year contract worth £115m awarded by the Defence Logistics Organisation. Under this contract, AgustaWestland, through a series of sub-contracts, will provide a range of essential repairable spares such as main and tail rotorblades and fire control radar line replaceable units.
