Great Western Railway Shareholders Index 1835-1910 The majority of GWR share transfers (approximately 90%) were as a result of the death of a shareholder and their shares changing hands during the administration of the deceased’s estate. 1911-1932 entries are not yet online.

Sir Arthur Vicars, Index to the Prerogative Wills of Ireland 1536-1810 This important book is well known to Irish genealogists. It contains an index to over 40,000 Irish wills, most of which were destroyed in the 1922 explosion at the Public Record Office in Dublin. Available online on Origins.net's Irish Origins

London: Diocese of London Consistory Court Wills index 1514-1858 Catalogued by volunteers this index contains 31,000 entries of wills and letters of administration compiled from the London Diocesan Court registers (DL/C/354-416). The Diocese of London included the square mile of the City, and parts of the ancient counties of Essex and Middlesex, and some parishes in Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire

Royal Naval Seamen's wills 1786-1882 Indexes and images to about 35,000 wills made by seamen who joined the Royal Navy between 1786 and 1882 (from TNA series ADM 48). The index is free to search but there is a charge to access and download the images. Registers of seamen's wills which list all wills registered with the Royal Navy, 1786-1909, and not just those that have survived in ADM 48 are on ADM 142 and can be downloaded free under the Digital Microfilm Project. In addition to the on-line indexes listed above, some of the out-of-copyright will indexes published by the British Record Society have been scanned and indexed by Ancestry and can be searched on-line. Although Ancestry is a commercial, pay-per-view site, a number of public libraries have subscriptions which enable it to be used free of charge from library computers.

Origins.net has exclusive rights to all British Record Society (BRS) material (other than out-of-copyright volumes), including unpublished indexes. Currently over 95% of the BRS indexes are online on the Origin.net's National Wills Index. All the BRS indexes on the National Wills Index are from the BRS master set and contains numerous corrections to the originally published volumes (ie including out-of-copyright indexes).
