Jennie is a member of HMRC's Executive Committee (ExCom).
As Director General, Enforcement and Compliance, she has overall responsibility for a group of directorates whose staff ensure that HMRC successfully collects the full and correct amount of money due from UK taxpayers, investigates offences against the tax system and takes action to identify and mitigate potential threats. She is also the Diversity champion for Race.
Jennie joined the Department in October 2012, bringing with her extensive experience of Compliance from her time in the Australian Tax Office.
Before joining HMRC, Jennie was Second Commissioner Law at the Australian Tax Office, based in Canberra, Australia.
She is a member of the International Monetary Fund Panel of Tax Administration experts and a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
In January 2009 Jennie was awarded a Public Service Medal for 'outstanding public service in administration of taxation in Australia and internationally', in part for bringing greater openness and transparency to ATO compliance activities.
