Ben Nevis 1345, When Brackets Matter

The complexities and hi-tech world of the Operations team makes OS a world leader in precision mapping. So why are there two heights published on the summit of Ben Nevis? To explain the difference for 8 to 80 year olds our Field Surveyor Angus Hemmings (one of the team of three who have re-surveyed Britain’s highest point) has borrowed from none other than President Obama’s White House White Board. So, with just a felt tip and lots of space to doodle at his disposal, Angus can now reveal the complex workings of the surveyor’s rule book to us all, and as you will see – brackets really matter!
