All Majestic stores (176 nationwide) operate the challenge 25 policy.All store managers are required to hold a personal licence.All stores are sent the following: Majestic Wine Warehouses Ltd - Age verification policyChallenge 25 - As a responsible retailer of wines and spirits we must do all we can to reasonably prevent sales of alcohol to under age persons. Our Challenge 25 policy means we request proof of age from any person attempting to purchase alcohol, taste wine on the tasting counter and any person signing for the delivery of alcohol purchases, who we believe to be under the age of 25.What forms of ID are acceptable?Proof of age ID must carry a photograph, date of birth and a holographic mark. The following Forms of ID are acceptable:driving licence photo card international passportproof of age scheme cards carrying the pass logoHow to check ID:check the hologramshould be a 3d effect (not stuck on)check the photo right personcheck the date of birthcheck the ID has not been tampered withEven if all the above are satisfied but you do not believe the person to be of a legal age to purchase alcohol you should refuse service.Customers without ID:If you do not believe the customer to be 25 or over and they are unable to provide satisfactory ID, explain the Challenge 25 policy and advise they return with acceptable identification. All refused sales must be recorded in the stores refusals register.Age verification and customer deliveries:Challenge 25 policy applies to all customer deliveries. No deliveries (of alcohol) may be signed for by a person you do not believe to be of a legal age to purchase alcohol, without acceptable proof of age.If a customer looks under 25 they must provide ID to prove they are over the age of 18.
