1 January, 2013
Submitted: 30 April, 2015
Through your physical activity pledges you will be working with employees, customers/consumers and/or local communities. For each group (as applicable) please describe the specific activities or projects you have undertaken over the past year.
For example, employee incentive schemes to promote physical activity, awareness raising activities or improvements to facilites to promote active travel.
The work undertaken or planned by the organisation to support active travel is primarily for employees although some may also be relevant to visitors to the offices.
We provide storage for bikes and personal effects for staff along with shower facilities to enable staff to cycle or run to and from work or to exercise at lunchtime.
Staff in our London office are encouraged to use Boris bikes to travel to meetings where possible. We refund the cost through our expenses policy.
We have secured funing for a health and wellbeing programme in 2015/16 and will ensure that this incorporates both physical and mental activity.
The organisation often supports staff who are taking part in physical challenges such as marathon's and fun runs etc by providing water bottles and t shirts etc.
We provide free meeting space for exercise classes such as pilates for staff.
For example, supporting/sponsoring local physical activity programmes, promoting physical activity to customers through website campaigns or in-store materials.
Our customers also have access to our facilities such as cycle parking, lockers and showers.
For example, support for community-based physical activity programmes (such as funding, sponsorship or other promotion activity), working with local partners to engage communities is physical activity opportunities.
We make our conference centre available to schools and community groups free of charge during the school holidays. The large facilities can be used for a range of acitivites.
Please estimate the number of your employees who report they are regularly using active modes of travel and explain how you arrived at this estimate.
Has the number of your employees using active modes of travel increased since last year? If unknown, please explain why:
If your active travel pledge activities have focused on customers or local communities, have you observed or measured any increases in active travel in these groups? If yes, please provide details and where you have been able to measure this please explain how you arrived at this estimate.
We would be interested to know if your pledge activity over the last year has delivered a measurable increase in participation in physical activity. If so, please describe and provide an estimate of the level of increase and how you measured this. There is a 2000-character limit when completing this section.
We do not formally measure these things but measures will form part of our health and well being programme for 2015/16
