H6. Staff Health Checks

To support staff in maintaining good health and wellbeing the Treasury Solicitor’s Department (TSol) offers a range of health checks including a bi-annual health screening service for staff and in-house provision of a GP service on a monthly basis.

TSol also provides flu jabs to staff on an annual basis. TSol also provides an Employee Assistance Programme supplied by Care First, which provides a professional and confidential counselling service. Other services include information and advice services covering a range of areas such as benefits, consumer advice, debt counselling and health and housing matters.

Workstation assessments are carried out to check that staff have the correct equipment to ensure that they are able to work comfortably without causing potential injury. TSol has a specific duty to ensure all staff complete a workstation assessment when they join TSol. We do this by asking staff to complete an online questionnaire, which is hosted by a specialist external provider.

Occupational health services are provided within TSol by Health Management. Staff also have access to an online tool which provides access to information, support and advice on a range of topics such as eating well, lowering cholesterol, back care, exercising, outdoor activities and preventing aches and pains whilst sitting at a desk.
