We are committed to providing preventative education and training in mental health and wellbeing. In addition to the advice and support already provided to our managers/counsellors by our HR teams and the work place adjustments to enable employees to remain at work, we have also implemented a clear mental health strategy.
’Thinking Differently’ is our firm-wide approach to mental health and well-being. We regard it as seriously as we regard physical health and aim to reduce its stigma at work. Our approach is designed to embrace all aspects; preventing problems from arising, increasing awareness, more effective support, understanding and acceptance.
• We recognise that prevention is better than cure and therefore are introducing a monthly health knowledge programme, which will interchange between health and mental health issues, arranged into quarterly themes. Resources will be available for each theme, including topical webinars and related events in our larger offices.
• We have collaborated with our health providers to develop clear, joined up clinical care pathways for employees who need support. As a result, it will now be easier to access Occupational Health, Physiotherapy, Private Health Insurance and our other health services.
• As further commitment to providing preventative education and training we are working with Mental Health First Aid England. Over the coming months we will also be rolling out EY bespoke Mental Health First Aid training across the firm.
• We have a flourishing Mental Health Network (80+ members) open to all and with members from all grades, regional offices and parts of the firm. Further support is provided to our employees through an informal buddy network via the Mental Health Network, which enables employees to link up with someone who has experienced similar emotional health related issues.
