H1. Chronic Conditions Guide and Carers

The principles set out in the chronic conditions guide are embedded within the Treasury Solicitor’s Department’s (TSol) HR policies and procedures. This includes a range of guidance to support employees in returning to work as soon as possible including managers keeping in touch with staff during periods of prolonged absence. Guidance is supported by specialist advice provided by the HR Advisory Team, Occupational Health Service and the Employee Assistance Programme (for both individuals and managers).

Attendance management procedures are in place within TSol to support managers in making reasonable work and workplace adjustments to support those returning to work after a period of sickness, or those suffering from chronic conditions. These include ergonomic adjustments, flexible working practices and role alterations.
