Through your physical activity pledges you will be working with employees, customers/consumers and/or local communities. For each group (as applicable) please describe the specific activities or projects you have undertaken over the past year.
For example, employee incentive schemes to promote physical activity, awareness raising activities or improvements to facilites to promote active travel.
Lucozade Ribena Suntory is committed to promoting the benefits of physical activity to all its employees. Our cycle to work programme was launched in 2014 and in 2015 we designed exclusive Lucozade Sport cycle kit available for all employees to purchase. Showers and changing room facilities were improved in 2014 to accomodate the number of cyclists travelling to work.
Lucozade Sport sponsors a number of race events and in 2014 20% of our allocated spaces were given to employees, this included spots at the London Marathon and the Great North Run. 60 employees also participated in our 'conditions zone' a bespoke football venue that recreated the humidity and climate conditions of Brazil, linked to the football World Cup.
We further showed our support to get employees running with a pledge to the All Party Parliamentary Run Group. We are proud as part of this commitment to have launched the LRS 'Race to Japan,' an initiatve where our employees will collectively run, walk, cycle and row the distance from London to Tokyo as part of an employee led fund-raising activity. As part of the initiative our employees will be able to win spots in races we support, as well as participate in company managed run/walk clubs.
We continue to provide an on-site personal trainer and bespoke fitness classes at our manufacturing site in Coledford and hold regular motivational health and fitness talks and sessions to encourage participation. At head office in London we have netball and football teams who play weekly in local leagues.
We have recently partnered with the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust as one of our chosen chartitable organisations. Through this partnership we will be promoting the benefits of sport and physical activity as an enabler for confidence and skills building.
Finally we we will launching a series of staff physical activity initiatives linked to the Rugby World Cup, where Lucozade Sport is the sports drink supplier to a number of the home nations teams.
For example, supporting/sponsoring local physical activity programmes, promoting physical activity to customers through website campaigns or in-store materials.
For example, support for community-based physical activity programmes (such as funding, sponsorship or other promotion activity), working with local partners to engage communities is physical activity opportunities.
Please estimate the number of your employees who participated in your workplace physical activity programmes over the last year and explain how you arrived at this estimate.
35% of workforce participated in physical activity programmes in 2014. This includes race spots awarded, conditions zone participants, on site gym members, netball and football teams.
Has the number of your employees participating in your workplace physical activity programmes increased since last year? If unknown, please explain why.
We would be interested to know if your pledge activity over the last year has delivered a measurable increase in participation in physical activity. If so, please describe and provide an estimate of the level of increase and how you measured this. There is a 2000-character limit when completing this section.
