At Danone, we run an active health programme, which is designed to promote health, well-being and happiness to all our employees. We have many initiatives and benefits which promote active living.Through our flexible benefits portal, employees can choose the "gymflex" benefit. Through gymflex, Danone purchases an employee's annual gym membership, saving up to 50% compared to standard membership fees. They then pay 12 monthly instalments, deducted directly from their pay. We offer all employees a healthy lifestyle sponsorship, which gives them £200 toward any activity which they feel will contribute to their health and wellbeing (this could be a gym membership, ski gear, cycle wear, a bike, swimming club, etc).We sponsor a number of employee sports clubs (tennis, football and mixed rugby), and offer our employees free yoga classes once a week.We also offer seasonal initiatives. In the summer, we ran weekly outdoor corprate bootcamps, whih were very popular, especially with our female employees. This winter, we are running weekly kickboxing/martial arts classes on site, as we realise that in winter, our employees will not want to travel far to get their daily exercise in. In addition to offering these benefits which subsidise a healthy lifestyle, we also run regular health awareness events, to promote this even further.In 2012, we are planning to review our active health programme to really understand which initiatives motivate our employees to be more active.In 2012, we are also taking part in the Danoners World Cup, which is an internal football competition between Danone employees worldwide. The world final will take place in Tokyo, which motivates our employees even more to enter in the competition!
