Through your physical activity pledges you will be working with employees, customers/consumers and/or local communities. For each group (as applicable) please describe the specific activities or projects you have undertaken over the past year.
For example, employee incentive schemes to promote physical activity, awareness raising activities or improvements to facilites to promote active travel.
At Danone, Active Health is a core part of our day-to-day lives. Active travel is a part of this initiative, and we regularly encourage people to take advantage of our cycle2work scheme.We launched this scheme 4 years ago to encourage employees to cycle to work. It allows employees to purchase a bike and safety equipment through an initial 12 month hire agreement. We also provide a secure bike storage shed.We have recently installed a shower in our office, to ecnourage people to cycle or run to work.As part of our benefits scheme, we give employees the opportunity to take out an annual season travel ticket loan, which is then deducted from their pay over a period of 10 months. We believe this encourages employees to use public transport to come to work, as an annual ticket is a far cheaper option than pay-as-you-go.
In 2012 we also sponsored 15 employees to take part in the Ealing Half Marathon, promoting physical activity in our local community.Danone Waters will continue to be asponsor of the Ealing Half Marathon in 2013 and will encourage employee involvement

Danone Nations Cup is the largest global football tournament in the world for kids aged 10-12, involving more than 2.5 million children and 32 countries. The campaign emphasises the importance of regularly exercising and keeping fit in the development of a healthy lifestyle. Danone UK have entered into an exciting partnership with the English Schools' Football Association (ESFA) to run the competition in over 650 secondary schools in England for under 12 boys, and over 4,000 primary schools teams. Over 85,000 children play in this competition building up to England final. The winners of the final get a chance to represent England in the world finals of the Danone Nations Cup which takes place every year in presence of its global ambassador Zinedine Zidane. We are very excited to announce that this year the World Final will be held in London for the first time, at one of the most iconic football stadiums in the world - Wembley!
