Please describe how you have supported local community activity to tackle alcohol's social and health harms, over the last year (2000 characters limit):
The Scotch Whisky Association (SWA) as a member of the Community Alcohol Partnership work stream of the Scottish Government Alcohol Industry Partnership (SGAIP) continues to promote and support the uptake of CAP schemes in Scotland.
The SWA has also led work to support Safe Zones through the SGAIP. Safe Zones provide non-judgemental support, advice and first aid in city centres at night time to anyone who needs help. £5000 of funding was provide to purchase a support vehicle for Safe Zone Edinburgh.
The SGAIP also at its February 2015 meeting agreed to provide £20,000 of funding to support the operation of Safe Zone Edinburgh for a period of one year (April 2015- March 2016) to enable data to be collected to assess the impact/effectiveness of the project.
