Committed since:

11 August, 2014

Delivery plan:

Submitted: 8 September, 2014

The Trust intends to achieve its Physical activity challenge by:

• Offering recreational classes in activities such as T’ai Chi, Pilates, Belly Dancing, Zumba and Yoga.
• Encouraging people to cycle to work through cycle-purchase schemes and the provision of cycle storage.
• Encouraging people to increase daily activity through initiatives such as ‘pedometer challenge’.
• Continue to improve walking routes and stairwells within Trust buildings.
• Seeking opportunities to promote physical activity, through sports teams and the corporate games
• Encourage gym membership through discounts
• Advice on diet and nutrition
• Assessment of BMI and other health risk factors through targeted health screening
We will ensure staff are aware of all this by:
• Providing an enhanced website-based health and work advice site
• Promoting health promotion schemes, eg, Cycle and Gym schemes
• Undertaking Ad hoc health promotional activity provided by health promotion and the Occupational Health Service, linking with national initiatives and events e.g. Men’s Health Week
• Contribute regular information on health matters to the staff magazine
• Introducing health and well-being champions to support staff
