H11. Alcohol in the workplace

We have developed and implemented a drugs and alcohol policy for all our employees. This policy sets out the disciplinary rules on these matters as well as advice on how to recognise and deal with colleagues who may be under the influence and how to seek help. We also have alcohol testing equipment available at our head office.

As part of our health support campaign, we will continue to offer support to employees with alcohol dependency via counseling, Occupational Health and the Employee Assistance programme.

Our in- house Education Team has developed a bespoke presentation which is given as part of new staff induction which deals with alcohol awareness and this includes an explanation on BAC limits, maximum recommended daily/weekly limits for men and women and why such recommendations are made.

When alcohol is provided at work events, it is served responsibly and non-alcoholic alternatives are available.

This year we will promote alcohol awareness among employees by providing a summary of the recommended drinking guidelines on our health and well-being page on our intranet.
