We have a section for staff updates within our Annual Report, which is produced at the end of our Financial Year (April). In 2012 we pledge that this will include details regarding the health and wellbeing of employees including staff sickness absence rate. We currently manage our staff sickness through Queen Mary University Human Resources, whereby staff are encouraged to self-report absence days, including a detailed breakdown of the reason for absence. This is then calculated as a rate proportional to the number of days worked in a year.Our annual appraisals and quarterly reviews with staff also offer the opportunity to discuss the health and wellbeing of each CASH employee. If there are any issues that cannot be dealt with within the CASH team, they are immediately brought to the attention of Queen Mary University Human Resources.Links to the NHS website are provided on request for all staff to help manage illness. We utilise the British Heart Foundation guides to healthy living at work, such as keeping fit. Staff are encouraged to take their refreshment breaks, and many staff enjoy running and cycling during their lunch breaks.
