Please describe the programme you have in place:
The approach taken to occupational health management includes ill health prevention through making the workplace a healthier one by removing or reducing hazardous substances and physical agents including noise. This process begins with designers and design risk assessments where our occupational hygienists provide advice and support to remove the hazard at source. The clinical service runs alongside this by undertaking fitness for work assessments, safety critical medicals, health surveillance and by offering a treatment service on site. As one of the organisational objectives is to prevent life changing occupational ill health, steps taken to prevent or reduce the risk to health is reported to top management every month. LLDC runs a health and well-being campaign that includes all employees and contractors working on construction activities and during normal work activities as well. The campaigns are run with monthly briefings and relate to themes that are relevant because of the work undertaken, or it coincides with national health awareness campaigns. It is a requirement that all contractors, sub-contractors and delivery partners have access to occupational health support. Directly employed staff and contractors are included in the service. Delivery partners can access the on-site service if they do not have their own provisions already in place.
