H1. Chronic Conditions Guide and Carers

Our Occupational Health and Welfare Team provide support to employees with any health related issues or concerns. A referral to this service may be made either personally or by a manager.

We advise employees who are returning to work after injury or illness, about what they should or should not be doing. This may be in the form of a rehabilitation programme to aid their recovery and transition back into work.

The Welfare Officers are there to support employees with personal, health or work related problems. They can also give advice to managers on best practice to follow when dealing with difficult or sensitive staffing issues. They can provide confidential advice, information, guidance, support and counselling to help deal with a wide range of issues.

The Parliamentary Occupational Health Physicians have reviewed and advised a number of individuals with chronic and/or mental health conditions. There have been onward referrals in some instances.

Healthcare advice to improve fitness at work
Advice on health and work for expectant mothers
Health surveillance for those in high risk areas
Advice and guidance for staff with disabilities including provision of suitable equipment
