P4. Physical Activity in the Workplace

Through your physical activity pledges you will be working with employees, customers/consumers and/or local communities. For each group (as applicable) please describe the specific activities or projects you have undertaken over the past year.
For example, employee incentive schemes to promote physical activity, awareness raising activities or improvements to facilites to promote active travel.
Having moved to a new Head Office in 2015 we have offered all employees in Theale the opportunity to join the central fitness club that offers lunch time fitness classes. All of our UK wide sports clubs or groups continue to receive financial support from our central sports and social committee. This year we have launched a new club for employees that offers water sports in the spring and summer including water skiing. We continue to offer significantly discounted gym membership through our annual flexible benefits platform to all employees. We also continue to partner with external agencies to promote work place initiatives such as British Heart Foundation, NHS, Cancer Research, MIND, Alcohol Awareness & West Berkshire Council. At our Theale and Gloucester sites we have a Health and Wellness Resource Centre which has leaflets and booklets on a number of health and wellness related topics, including from these agencies. We also encourage employees to assist with grape harvesting in our UK vineyards at Theale, Gloucester and Windsor during the harvest season each year. We shall continue to survey our employees on an annual basis specifically on the subject of health and wellness within the work place, gain feedback and work towards improvements through specific initiatives or with our professional partners including Occupational Health or the local NHS.

There is a core number of employees at all sites in the UK that participate in sports activities before, during and after work. There are more employees who get involved in the seasonal work sports teams or our cross-site work matches.
