BT has a well established health promotion programme entitled Work Fit which is made up of a number of topic based campaigns aimed at encouraging and supporting our people to make small but sustainable changes to their lifestyle to promote wellbeing and vitality at work and beyond. To date the campaigns have covered cardiovascular disease, smoking cessation, mental health, nutrition, managing pressure, sun safety, cancer, and diabetes. In the course of all of these campaigns, information is disseminated through the intranet and in written form on how to be more physically active and the health benefits of increased activity. We routinely encourage employees, and visitors, to take the stairs instead of the lifts through strategically placed signage. We also have subsidised membership programmes to fitness facilities nationwide as well as a small number of onsite gyms.
