H4. Healthier Staff Restaurants

Please decribe how you and your caterers have encouraged healthier restaurants/vending outlet/buffets (as applicable) for your staff over the last year. There is a 2000-character limit when completing this section.
In order to support our food pledge within ISS Food and Hospitality below are some of the actions that we have implemented into the business.
We work in partnership with our clients on a health & wellbeing campaign across all UK & Ireland sites. Through our the campaign the Development Chef team, Operations team & Site Managers worked closely with the clients HR departments and launched into the business:
â€¢ Whole fresh fruit sold at reduced price
â€¢ Additional cold water coolers installed throughout all the office buildings where possible, not only in vending areas so this was easily accessible.
â€¢ As there was a variety of styles of water coolers and a request from the end user to be able to fill bottles rather than cups and take back to their desk we sourced a flexible sports cap water pouch which could be used with all the cooler and every employee across UK & Ireland had one delivered to them.
â€¢ Zest for Life was also rolled out offering healthy option meals and snacks. Along with this the concept was heavily advertised to include recipe cards for the customers to take away with them and try at home.
Within our Scottish sites we have successfully achieved and obtained The Healthy living award which is an award for the food sector delivered and managed by the National Health Service. The award body works closely with the site Managers and chefâ€™s to make changes to our cooking practices and ingredients in offering our customers the opportunity to make healthy choices in the food they consume.
All HP sites who have successfully achieved the award, which is displayed in the restaurant, have signed up and committed to serving and preparing food using healthier ingredients and cooking methods which keep fat, salt and sugar to a minimum, and that options such as water, low fat dairy products and fruit and vegetables are always available.
To date the following sites hold the award; BAE Scotstoun, BAE Govan, Portal & Hewlett Packard.
