BT has a sustainable travel group which promotes and supports more active travel. We want to spend more time on our feet and wheels, and less time sitting in cars, buses, tubes and trains. The environmental, health and wellbeing benefits of healthy, sustainable lifestyles are embedded right across the business through various initiatives. For example, the energy saving campaign encourages people to use the stairs other than the lift, and highlights the health issues associated with congestion and air pollution in major cities, encouraging employees to consider walking or cycling as alternatives to journeys by car. At Adastral Park, the largest BT site, there is a GrassRoutes travel plan, designed to encourage people to think about how they travel to work.
