Ground Control shall meet the requirements of this pledge through a partnership approach with our direct employees and subcontractor teams (our workforce).
We shall achieve this by identifying the key barriers to the occupational health and wellbeing of our workforce, and through the provision of both direct intervention and ongoing support networks.
To promote work-life balance, we shall provide our workforce with free, confidential and bespoke health and wellbeing support programmes through an independent specialist provider. This is with immediate effect, and will be managed through our HR Department.
We shall conduct a comprehensive and anonymous health and safety survey using the independent Health and Safety Laboratory’s “Health and Safety Climate Tool” and review the findings accordingly. This will be issued in March 2015 and acted upon over the remainder of 2015.
We shall conduct a programme of “Health and Wellbeing Stand Down Days” involving our entire workforce, where we shall listen to, and act upon, their concerns in a positive and proactive manner. These have already started and will be concluded by the end of April 2015. A second programme has already been planned for the winter of 2015.
We shall work with our downward equipment suppliers so they can provide a safer product to our workforce through direct liaison. This has already started, and the next milestone is 18th March 2015. We shall share these outcomes with the wider industry through the invitation of our clients.
