Run England is working in partnership with a wide range of County Sports Partnerships, local authorities, universities, colleges, leisure operators, primary care trusts and companies to achieve our objective of increasing the number of adults running once a week. There are currently two specific projects which are a partnership between Run England and the NHS.The first being in County Durham, where a full time activator is working in partnership with the Changing the Physical Activity Landscape (CPAL) programme to reduce the risk of cardio vascular disease (CVD) in adults aged 40 to 65. The activitator is working to develop Run England groups focussing on targeting people within this risk bracket as well as their direct family members. The target is 300 people within the CVD bracket with a further 200 direct family members. The second project is in partnership with Northamptonshire NHS where the part-time activator has a target of 1,000 participants to join the Jog Northants Programme, 500 of whom aren't doing the CMO recommended level of physical activity on joining the project. Of those 500, there is a target of 20 per cent completing the CMO recommended levels after 3 months of joining the project, 15 per cent after 6 months and 10 per cent after 12 months.
