“I took advantage of a health assessment at my workplace in 2010. At the health assessment I was found to have high blood pressure and advised to visit my doctor. My doctor said he had little doubt that I would have had a heart attack within a year if my high blood pressure had not been picked up.
I felt well, I hadn’t been to my doctor in years and I exercised regularly and have taken part in the London Marathon. I don’t smoke, wasn’t stressed and there weren’t any signs or symptoms of my high blood pressure. Fortunately due to the assessment my high blood pressure was picked up and I am now on medication to control it, I am back at work and can continue to enjoy my two young children”.
