F8. Saturated Fat Reduction

Mondel?z International is a proud signatory to the Responsibility Deal pledge to reduce saturated fat. Although we were only created in October 2012, we have a clear mission to help consumers snack mindfully and improve their awareness of what it is they are consuming. This includes improving the nutrition profile of our products, such as reducing saturated fat and increasing whole grains across our portfolio. We also have long-standing commitments to help consumers manage their calories and reduce salt intake.

We expect to deliver the pledge by reformulating products across our portfolio to reduce levels of saturated fat, creating new recipes for consumer favourites such as Barny and belVita that will have the same delicious taste, but offer reduced levels of saturated fat for consumers. We will focus R&D resources to look at where we can reduce saturated fat across our wider product range.

We will also include advice on reducing saturated fats in our pioneering consumer education programme, Health for Life, across South Birmingham. This programme reaches families and people of all ages with advice on nutrition, as well as growing, cooking and eating healthy food.
