Submitted: 25 October, 2012
The Trust currently operates a mixed model approach in the provision of Occupational Health services. There are four in-house OH Nurses who are complimented by a number of external OH Physicians providing services regionally across the six counties that the Trust covers. To ensure all OH service providers are meeting the standards required by the SEQOHS accreditation, the Trust is undertaking a formal tender to source a provider who is either accredited or is in the active process of going through the accreditation procedures. This tendering exercise has commenced with the Pre-Qualifying Questionnaire (PQQ) stage. The expectation is that the tendering process will be completed by the end of March 2013, having awarded the contract to commence 1 April 2013. As part of one of the worlds largest employers, the health and wellbeing of our workforce together with that of all other NHS Trusts, is crucial to the delivery of the improvements in patient care envisaged in the NHS Constitution. Following the outsourcing of our Occupational Health services, the Trust will retain dedicated Health Wellbeing expertise and capacity. By raising the standard of our Occupational Health provision and continuing our commitment to Health and Wellbeing internally, staff will be fitter, healthier and more engaged.
