In conjunction with occupational health and rehabilitation consultants, we will provide support and guidance to reduce workplace risk and manage stress for employees both in work and returning to work. We will discuss with employees workplace adjustments which may include phased return, flexible working practices, adjustments to their roles and responsibilities and health & safety adjustments. We will continue to work with staff with mental health conditions on a case by case basis across the firm and regularly review the adjustments to ensure they are working and are still appropriate.
We have a number of support mechanisms in place, i.e. the employee assistance programme, which offers face to face counselling and a website with advice on a range of topics.
Our occupational health provider has a Health & Wellbeing Advisory Service, which is available 24 hours a day, for employees to discuss any personal concerns about medical conditions, treatment and general health and lifestyle issues. There is an interactive health and wellbeing portal which gives staff the resources and inspiration to make simple changes to develop a healthier, more balanced and productive lifestyle.
Internal face to face support
We are actively looking to raise awareness amongst staff with our recently launched health and wellbeing programme.
We are currently recruiting a team of wellbeing friends in each of our offices to act as a point of contact for anyone needing help in managing their wellbeing. We see this as a mental health first aider role with the aim to help struggling individuals access the right help and support. This team will receive training to equip them for the role.
During May, we will be running lunchtime training sessions to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Week, which will be open to all staff. The seminars will be videoed for those unable to attend. Articles and best practice will be published on a regular basis and other events organised.
