Staff sickness monitoring is a high priority for the Trust as it provides a means for identifying trends and addressing areas of concern. There is a dedicated working group which has developed a series of proposals designed to support a healthy workforce and bring about an improvement in attendance. Within the Trusts Annual Report there is a section on the health and wellbeing of employees. This Report is available to all staff and the public via the Trusts internet site, or upon request. This includes information on sickness absence rates; making comparisons to previous years. Sickness absence rates are collated by our real time Global Rostering System (GRS) and on the national NHS payroll/HR system, Electronic Staff Records. Sickness absence information is reported to the Board on a monthly basis through the Trusts Dashboard Report. Reporting is also undertaken by managers at a local level. Engagement on health and wellbeing is developing within the Trust. Our recognised trade union form part of our working group and reporting of health and wellbeing is evident from Board through to local levels and includes engagement with our joint consultative groups at strategic and local levels. Health and wellbeing forms a section within our Annual Report and Annual Plan. Health and wellbeing is an integral part of the Trusts HR Strategy. Progress on this strategy is reported twice yearly to the Trusts Performance and Finance Committee (a committee which reports to the Trust Board).
