H1. Chronic Conditions Guide and Carers

Colleagues with long term conditions are encouraged to seek occupational health advice, and where sickness absence is unavoidable, they are supported by regular contact with their HR manager and an occupational health nurse.
Return to work may be assisted by reduced hours (increased as appropriate), redeployment to alternative duties and the provision of aids or modification of equipment and workstations.
In 2014/15 we expanded physiotherapy services to increase access to timely advice and support for musculoskeletal conditions.
We have also introduced Safety Health and Wellbeing Teams and undertaken health and wellbeing road shows at a number of sites which have included health screening for chronic conditions. We are undertaking Disability Awareness training with our partners Remploy to ensure our colleagues are optimally supported and managed.
