The LGA monitors the engagement of staff through its employee survey and reports on the outcomes on staff satisfaction through the annual Business Plan. The organisation provides its employees with a standard public sector sick pay scheme and manages its sickness absence proactively with the assistance of an external occupational health provider. The LGA recognises that the health of its staff is of paramount importance and uses the services of an employee assistance provider to offer 24 hour counselling services to its staff.
Staff are committed to their own health and wellbeing with a number of activities funded and supported by the staff themselves including Yoga, Healthy Walks, Gardening, Football and Massage
