H1. Chronic Conditions Guide and Carers

The principles set out in the chronic conditions guide are embedded within the firm's HR policies and procedures. We see the commitment to this pledge as a further means of ensuring we have the highest standards in place by which to achieve this.

In support of this pledge we provide a range of support to those with chronic conditions including occupational health, employee assistance programme and health insurance. We continue to work with all staff with chronic conditions on a case by case basis across the firm. This will include guidance and support to employees returning to work as soon as possible, and keeping in touch with staff during periods of absence. We also provide guidance and support to line managers on supporting employees with chronic conditions.

In conjunction with occupational health and rehabilitation consultants, we will have an open discussion about any reasonable adjustments for those returning to work. This may include phased return, flexible working practices, adjustments to their roles and responsibilities and health & safety adjustments.

The firm is committed to the "two ticks" initiative and has held the "two ticks" disability symbol for more than three years. Training on 'diversity and inclusion' is provided to line managers as part of the existing line manager training programme. There is a Diversity and Inclusion Steering Group who meet on a quarterly basis. The group consists of various levels of staff across all six offices. Minutes, action plans, statistics and a range of other materials are available on the firm's intranet.
