If you have any special requirements (access/disability), please let me know.
These are optional seminars open to everyone.
Creating optimum sleep
How well do you sleep? 25% of UK adults report some form of sleeping issue. This one hour session will help you understand the physiology of sleep, how it impacts on your ability to handle pressure and practical tips for optimising your sleep quality.
From stress to success
The pace of today's life is such that many of us find ourselves constantly driven to perform at a consistently high level, both at work and at home. Some people thrive under pressure but others burnout. This seminar examines how you can alter your patterns of thinking and behaviour to transform stress to success.
Time management with a difference
A holistic time management course with a difference
For most of us, life presents an ongoing challenge to get everything done - and in less time. Staying focused, energised and productive are key to effective time management. This seminar will help you understand the links between memory storage capacity, performance and time management and give you practical tips on avoiding procrastination, panicking and feeling overwhelmed.
INTERNAL FACE TO FACE SUPPORT
We are in the final stages of recruiting a team of wellbeing friends (mental health first aiders) in each of our offices to act as a point of contact for anyone needing help in managing their wellbeing. The training will be rolled out in June to equip them for the role.
Announcement placed on the intranet regarding this initiative:-
Are you interested in helping colleagues to manage their wellbeing?
As part of the firm's commitment to wellbeing we will be launching several initiatives to help people proactively manage their own wellbeing and handle stress. One of these initiatives is to create a team of wellbeing friends in each office to act as point of contact for anyone needing help in managing their wellbeing. Think of this as a mental health first aider role.
The role would include:
Being an initial point of contact and support for those struggling with stress/wellbeing issues
Signposting staff to available services and resources
Offering basic advice on ways to reduce stress and improve resilience
Supporting the firm/office wellbeing events
We have already recruited some partner champions who want to help this initiative. We want to recruit staff from a range of teams (fee earning and business support) and in every office and will offer training to prepare you for the role. We want you to simply be available if a member of staff would appreciate support independent from their line management and HR.
If you are interested in finding out more, please contact us.
HEALTH & WELLBEING BENEFITS
In support of our wellness programme, during May we will be opening “a health & wellbeing flexible benefits enrolment window†where employees can sign up to benefits associated with health & wellbeing. These will include bikes4work and Health screening which are offered via salary sacrifice where tax and national insurance savings can be made. The health screens range from a fully body MOT to specific tests focussing on the early detection of cancer which will include bowel, breast, lung, prostrate and skin checks. Other benefits include private medical insurance, dental insurance and a health cash plan.
DATA AND INFORMATION
We are reviewing the information, guidance and links that are available on our intranet for managers and individuals. We are currently working on a dedicated wellbeing page where all information will be easily accessible in one central location.
Our occupational health providers are currently going through the accreditation process and have to be accredited by June 2015.
