Over the past year we have worked with suppliers to develop and implement new software which not only prompts our employees to confirm on every transaction that the customer is over 18 but also now displays a date of birth 18 years ago so staff can see at a glance if someone is old enough to purchase alcohol. This date is automatically updated daily.We have strengthened our training in this area and are rolling out the new training package across the whole business. This will be completed by the end of December 2011. All new staff are required to sign to confirm that they have completed this training before they are authorised to sell alcohol.We continue to use in house test purchases to monitor compliance. We have made a number of acquisitions over the past six months and are rolling out this training across the newly acquired Cloverleaf, RealPubs and Capital Pub Company estates.
